Long known for their quality intakes, Volant is excited to offer this new high flow cold air intake with ram air scoop for the 2008-2011 Chevrolet Corvette with the 6.2L LS3 engine or Corvette Z06 with 7.0L engine. This intake is the result of exhaustive research to find a ram air design that provides great performance, looks, and quality. The intake uses a Volant Pro 5 reusable/cleanable oiled filter for lasting flow and durability. This intake has a scoop that goes under the front bumper similar to other intakes on the market. As with any intake that has a scoop in this location, there is a chance of water ingestion if drive through standing water more than a few inches deep. Please drive with care. Volant does offer a prefilter to help protect you in this situation.
Features
Volant Air Filter Box: Our Cross-Link polyethylene box is engineered to each specific application for low restriction and an increase in air volume. It insulates and protects the filter from engine heat, moisture, dust and debris to provide colder air to the engine for an increase in horsepower.
Volant Air Duct: Factory air inlet ducts use sound baffles and awkward bends which restrict flow. Our Cross-Link polyethylene air ducts are sculptured to give the engine less restrictive breathing. Incorporating larger diameters and unique bends, that can't be duplicated with metal ducts, allow for maximum airflow velocity and throttle response.
Volant Pro 5 Filter: Many of our intakes come with this cleanable and reusable high grade cotton filter media with five-layers of protection. It reduces air restriction and increases engine output by using precision pleat geometry, that optimizes airflow throughout the intake system. We recommend using Volant cleaning and oiling system for servicing the Pro 5 Filter.
Stainless Steel Clamps: We only use marine-grade, stainless steel clamps that provide optimal performance to provide a solid seal that won't loosen or deteriorate.
About Optional Volant Pre-filter-
The pre-filters are recommended when you install any of our CAS Cool Air Scoop sor go serious off roading. It also benefits when your work truck is consistently around fine powder, sand or rainy weather. This cover protects the filter from splashes of water or saturating the filter in mud. The unique material contains uniform micron openings that filter out debris .005 or larger.
